This time, let's explore a currently hot concept dealing with ALTERNATIVE POSITIONING OF GRAPHICS. Here's a little case study using one of our favorite customers, Legacy Golf Club in Bradenton, FL.
This is Legacy's official logo. Very cool. Nice, flowing script typestyle accompanied by a unique graphic. As you, and everyone else would assume, it's on everything in the shop...shirts, hats, towels, you name it. Our mission was to create something new and different while still maintaining a look consistent with the official logo graphics. Plus in this particular instance, we wanted to utilize an Alternative Positioning of the finished design. No Left Chest, Front Center, or Full Back plain vanilla.
At right is the new design we created. While it represents a big departure from the official design graphically, they are more similar than a first glance would indicate. The bird in the diamond is maintained. To punch this up a bit, we created a half tone pattern inside the diamond, using the diamond itself to create the pattern. The diamond is also flanked by greenery in the new design, as in the official logo. Using foliage elements to frame a graphic is very hot right now, used by many high end fashion T-Shirt companies. The angular positioning of the type is also a key element in this design, it provides a unique composition that makes it a perfect fit for Alternative Placement of this design on a shirt. Check it out...
What do you think? Pretty cool? The High Right placement of this design is as current as it gets. Combined with the kicked-up graphics this shirt is hot! Notice how with this placement combined with the angular type this design appears to wrap around the neckline. We just finished this project, so at this time there is no information on sell through. But, we can report that among those who have seen this shirt the response has been extremely positive.
